We work with teaching staff to set targets for learning and pupils&#8217; achievements, striving for excellence across the whole spectrum of school life. We monitor how well the school is doing in achieving its targets and where improvements can be made.<\/p><p>As governors our duties include:<\/p><ul><li>Setting strategic direction, policies and objectives;<\/li><li>Approving the school budget and reviewing progress against it;<\/li><li>Monitoring and evaluating performance;<\/li><li>Ensure the Christian ethos of the school is preserved and developed;<\/li><li>Ensuring that the school is accountable to the children, parents, staff, Local Authority, Diocese and the community it serves.<\/li><\/ul><p>We do not get involved in the day-to-day workings of the school; this is clearly the responsibility of the Head Teacher and his management team.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-786b15a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"786b15a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Who we are ?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-16422f0 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"16422f0\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-c85bf68\" data-id=\"c85bf68\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0f37b4f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0f37b4f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Prestbury\u00a0CE\u00a0Primary School&#8217;s Governing Body has a diverse mix of experiences with members drawn from parents, staff and the Diocese. All governors are appointed for a term of four years, and we are part of the largest volunteer workforce in the UK with around 370,000 governor places
